L'Etoile
EcoFish is proud to introduce L'Etoile, our restaurant of the month. L’Etoile is a fine dining restaurant that was established in 1976. Seasonal menus are inspired by the Midwest region and rendered with a French influence. With great respect for nature and the seasons, L’Etoile makes every effort to work with ingredients that are cultivated in accordance with their natural cycles and grown in their native and adaptive soils.
Through partnerships with small-scale farms, seasonal menus primarily composed from local ingredients all year round are made possible. These farmers provide most of L’Etoile’s meats, dairy and produce, including cellared root crops and greens from unheated hoop houses through out the winter months. Combined with L’Etoile’s strategy of putting up quantities of local produce throughout the growing season, their culinary options remain creative, delicious and regionally relevant even in the coldest months.
L’Etoile’s award winning wine list includes a cellar program for optimum storage and aging. The list surveys most wine regions of the world with particular emphasis on small artisan producers of Northern Europe. L’Etoile emphasizes personal service in a relaxed and comfortable second floor dining room overlooking the Capital Square in the heart of Madison.
L’Etoile celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and over one-year of operation under co-proprietors Tory and Traci Miller. Several upcoming events will celebrate these milestones.
